It usually occurs in children and young adults and most commonly in the cortex of the shaft of long bones. Its treatment has been indicated to lighten the symptomatology and to avoid the possibility of disorders in the nearby growth cartilage, chronic changes of bone remodeling and osteoarthritis, according to the case.
