A tissue ablation probe for treating bone tissue (e.g., a tumor) is provided. The tissue ablation probe comprises a cannula configured for being introduced into bone tissue, and at least one ablative element configured for being transversely deployed from the cannula into the bone tissue. In one embodiment, the ablative element(s) comprises a pair of ablative elements, in which case, the ablative elements can be configured for being transversely deployed from the ablation probe in opposite directions. In embodiment, the ablative element(s) comprises a plurality of ablative elements, in which case, the ablative elements can be configured for being transversely deployed outward from the ablation probe in a plane. The ablative element(s), when deployed may have a non-spherical ablation energy profile, e.g., an elongated or disk-shaped profile, to match a non-spherical profile of the bone tissue to be treated.
