The phenomenon of numerical flexibility in Colombia efers to the autonomy of the company for binding and unbinding workers according to the needs of the company?born with the arrival of some multinationals that implemented in their countries of origin deregulation measures labor. Today after 30 years, it has become a common practice in all types of businesses. However, the country did not exist in an empirical study that understood the role assumed by human management against the backdrop of numerical labor flexibility. This work does, from a qualitative case study approach, descriptive depth and on a sample of 22 companies of Colombia. The results showed that human management is taking a passive role, in an environment that detracts from the principles of contractual flexibility poses challenges for various stakeholders and contributes to the literature on the relationship between numerical flexibility and human resource management.
