Continuing Library and Information Science Education. Final Report to the National Commission on Libraries and Information Science

摘要

This study contains the highlights of the final report to NCLIS by Project Director Elizabeth W. Stone, Associate Project Director Ruth J. Patrick, and Research Associate Barbara Conroy. The report is in response to the need to determine the current status of, and future needs for, continuing education by personnel in library and information science. As stated: The purpose of the present document is to communicate, in very brief form, the study's major recommendations for organizing and implementing effective continuing education for people in library and information science careers. It presents an overview of the recommended service and resource facility, CLENE, and highlights the rationale on which the suggested goals are based.
