Users Voice DEF Concerns in Online Survey; Cold Temps Top List

Diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) has become a mandatory commodity for many on-highway trucks, as well as for an increasing number of construction machines that use selective catalytic reduction (SCR) to control nitrogen-oxide (NOx) emissions. PEAK Commercial & Industrial, manufacturers of BlueDEF, recently conducted an online survey to ask DEF users about their concerns. The three top issues, in ascending order, were the fluid's performance in freezing temperatures, the prospect of added maintenance costs, and DEF's effect on fuel economy.
