摘要

The structural assessment of existing older German prestressed concrete bridges based on current valid standards and guidelines generally reveals considerable deficits concerning the required shear reinforcement. Therefore, in the course of an ongoing research projects on behalf of the German Federal Highway Research Institute (BASt) large-scale experiments have been undertaken at TU Dortmund University, in order to analyse the shear bearing capacity of multi-span prestressed concrete beams more precisely. Thus conclusions can be drawn on additional existent parts of the shear bearing capacity, which are currently not considered by the ideal truss model. The substantial variables of the investigation were the shear reinforcement ratio as well as the load type (SL vs UDL). The article at hand gives information about some selected results of the executed experiments and some conclusions in a compact form.
