There were three projectionists at the Plaza, which was owned by John Wood of Bedford Cinemas (1928) Ltd. It was sold to Provincial Cinematograph Theatres (PCT) before opening in March 1928. Ross projectors were initially used at the Plaza, followed by Magnus Seniors with Brenkert arcs. When Mike started, the projection equipment at the Alfred Shennon designed cinema was Kalee 21 machines with President arcs. These were on 18 bases, which came from the Grand, Smithdown Road, Liverpool.
