Back in February of 2002 I had been approached by a promotions company, on the feasibility of providing film screenings at a number of music festivals taking place in the UK. The Idea was to provide a film tent that played a number of popular or topical feature films for that year in 35mm, and at the same time provide a venue where they could give away samples of their produce. Video at that time was not deemed good enough, picture quality wise, as it was in the days before DLP D-cinema projectors became the norm. Also the source would have only been DVD and on top of that some of the festivals already do video cinemas in the music tents to keep the festival goers amused at night.
