About the only thing Visa International and MasterCard Worldwide could agree on for their contactless readers in the United Kingdom was that the lights would be green. But they differed on how the LEDs would flash when a consumer's card was read and when the reader was on standby, say observers. That's not to mention the discussions over the way the reader would beep and the messages it would display.
