The pursuit of sustainable energy solutions is no longer new. In fact, when The Future of Energy Summit convenes in New York on April 7, phase change-a term you might recall from physics class if you were awake that day-will be among the discussion points. "We're nearly $2 trillion of investment into a lower-carbon energy system," says Nathaniel Bullard, Director of Content, Bloomberg New Energy Finance (BNEF), the organizing body of the event. "The century-old business model for power and auto companies is shifting to models with solar and wind energy, power storage and electric vehicles. It's also the beginning of a new era for investment: liquidity from crowdfunding; equity from corporations; and even risk rotation away from fossil fuels in institutional investments."
