Philippine President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, during the Leyte Optimization turn-over ceremony to PNOC-EDC, thanked the people of Leyte for generously sharing their geothermal resources by supplying electrical power to the other parts of the country. The Ormat Leyte Co. Ltd., an affiliate of Ormat Technologies, Inc., which built and operated geothermal plants in Leyte, is turning over the four, optimization, geothermal plants-with a total generating capacity of 51 MWe-after many years of bringing clean energy to the Filipino people, the President stressed. PNOC-EDC is the Philippine National Oil Company-Energy Development Corporation.
