This ceremony guidance device is operated by a person responsible for managing funds and is communicatively connected with: a retail merchant server operated by a retail merchant who sells ceremonial goods; and a financial institution server that manages the account of the organizer of a ceremony, the account of the person who is responsible for managing funds and who serves as an agent for the organizer, and the account of a credit merchant who performs advance payment for a virtual participant who participates in a ceremony via a network. The ceremony guidance device receives communication from the financial institution server indicating that a sum of money gifted on the occasion of a ceremony and advanced by the credit merchant has been transferred from the account of the credit merchant to the account of the person responsible for managing funds, transmits a first indicator to the retail merchant server indicating that electronic currency having a monetary value equivalent to a part of the gifted sum is to be transmitted to the virtual participant, and transmits a second indicator to the financial institution server indicating that the sum remaining after at least the price of the electronic currency has been deducted from the gifted sum is to be transferred from the account of the person responsible for managing funds to the account of the organizer.
