Intense Coherent VUV Radiation from a Self-Trapped Ultra-Short Laser Pulse

摘要

A new technique to generate super-wide-band, coherent, and high brightness radiation has been demonstrated. The white-light ranging from IR to 150 nm was generated by a self-trapped femtosecond Ti: Al_2O_3 laser pulse in atmospheric pressure rare gases. Spectral intensities in the UV and the VIS regions are 100 MWm and 1 GWm, respectively. The beam divergence was measured to be 1 mrad.
