CONSTRUCTION PERFORMANCE BY SECTOR

The value of contracts awarded in the commercial and retail market was £618m in December based on a three month rolling average. This is a 19.9% decrease from November but a 31% rise from the December 2012 figure. In the three months to November the value of contracts was 18% above the previous three months and 48.6% higher than the same period in 2012. This suggests a much stronger finish to 2013 in the sector than the previous year.
