'Significant' shortage of skills to cost firms dear

A survey of leading practices has revealed the shocking scale of the skills shortage facing the architectural profession, with respondents expecting annual staff turnover to rise to an average of more than 70% in the next five years.rnThe Association of Consultant Architects, which represents firms in private practice, analysed data from 20 firms, including Allies & Morrison, BDP, Aedas, RMJM and KPF. More than 80% of respondents considered that a "significant" or "very significant" skills shortage exists, with the average firm expecting to lose nearly 75 staff in the next five years.
