Roger Hiorns doesn't know what he will find when he finally cuts his way into his latest work. He's hoping for an extraordinary transformation of a council flat, but there is no way yet of knowing if he and the team working on this latest Artangel project will pull it off -it could all go horribly wrong. For Seizure, Hiorns has filled a whole flat with copper sulphate solution, which is easier said than done. Born in 1975 and a graduate of Bournville and Goldsmiths, he has worked with this chemical since the mid-nineties, encrusting all sorts of objects with the dense, unearthly and pristine bristle of bright blue crystals that it forms.
