I read with interest the debate about sketching versus computer-generated images (Debate May 21).rnThe drawing board encompasses the architect's eye and stretches across the whole field of vision. Working on a computer, however, is like keyhole surgery.rnWhen cad was first introduced it was computer aided drafting, not design. Computer drafting is merely a means of conveying information-useful for transferring across continents and the ether, and for those not versed in the art of reading drawings.
