Look at John Poteete's image entitled Raleigh & Rusty, the final photograph of his Spot-light portfolio. That's Raleigh Dugger Nail in the picture. He was from Graysville, Tennessee—just down the road from where Poteete lives in Chattanooga. He's smoking a self-rolled cigarette called a Bugler. Those cigarettes were as much a part of Uncle Raleigh's face as his nose. He was driving a little 1947 Dodge convertible coupe, the one with a back end looking like a humpback whale. He was 75 when the picture was taken—he died at age 90.
