Jari Poulin has her grandfather to thank for her lifelong passion for photography. "He showed me a mysterious photographic collection of long-gone family members and entertained me with stories about the people and places in them," says the Ithaca, New York-based photographer. He then showed her how to operate his camera. From that point on, she was hooked by the medium's singular ability to convey stories and capture a fleeting moment in time.
