摘要

With growing concerns about environmental pollution and depletion of fossil fuel resources, various biofuels have been assessed. In this paper, the performance and emission characteristics of sapote seed oil methyl ester blends were studied. Sapote seed oil methyl ester was blended with diesel in increments of 5%. Additionally, 5% diethyl ether was added to all blends with sapote seed oil methyl ester in order to reduce the overall viscosity of the blends. It was observed that with an increase in the proportion of sapote seed oil methyl ester in the blend, CO, HC emissions and smoke opacity decreased. Similarly, with an increase in sapote seed oil methyl ester content in the blend, brake thermal efficiency, exhaust gas temperature and NOx emissions also increased.
