Public libraries and resilient cities

The current economic climate and closure of libraries has made many information professionals nervous about the future of their libraries. Many of us are asking these questions: How do libraries respond to the introduction of e-books and instant information technologies? Where is the book? Where is the librarian? Where is the community in this brave new world? How do we reconnect with our communities and demonstrate to our administrators that our library is valued and worthy of continued funding? What is the way forward for libraries in supporting their communities?
