It's not often that an architecture practice is launched with a multiresidential project. Freadman White's North Melbourne Townhouses, the firm's first completed work, was a discernible departure from the family member's bathroom or friend's beach house commissions that architects usually start out on. The project experiments with hybrid planning, and the freedom and freshness of thinking evident in the four-storey townhouses have propelled liana Freadman and Michael White into working on further medium-density residential projects, along with a handful of single residential works and a small commercial design. The duo is emerging with a bang.
