Practical Detailing

This well presented book sets out to examine the question of "Why one thing, not another?" as it applies to architectural detailing. Graham Bizley collects forty of the working details of contemporary buildings previously published in the Building Design Magazine (London) since April 2004. The projects appear in the order in which they were first published and have been selected as exemplifying the forefront of thinking in building technology, yet also addressing timeless problems of architectural detailing. The details are presented not as ready-made solutions but as additions to the knowledge base and a stimulus for thought.
