"We've lived in this house for 40 years, and now we wish to live in an ambitions piece of architecture. The client s first words. The site sits on the boundary of farmland, and looking back on how globalism did not prioritise the relation between nature and people, the concept became "to create diverse boundaries, internal as well as external, through examining materials". We incorporated 5 methods to realize this. (1)Maze-like composition where the inside and outside are blurred. (2) 16 Skylights. Glazed over internal spaces, not glazed over exterior spaces. (3) The same movable potted plants placed inside and outside. (4) Same floor finish inside and outside. (5) Same wall finish inside and outside. The clients said two years after completion "we have never felt so close to nature. We have a sense of feeling the weather with our bodies. We go to the living room at night, and we slip into another world. It's magical and impressive to watch the pale moonlight moving slowly."
