The Sustainable Disco

Club WATT, which boasts the highest percentage of energy savings for a place of this size, opened in Rotterdam in September 2008. The design of the club took almost two years and was managed by the Dutch company Sustainable Dance Club (SDC), a group that offers consultancy and design services for entertainment spaces. Club WATT can accommodate 2,000 people on two different levels and includes the 150-seat Teaterzaal theatre, the Lulu cafe-restaurant, a garden in the interior courtyard, the dance club in the basement and a roof garden. The interiors were designed by the Dutch architecture offices Kossmann.dejong and Doll-Atelier voor Bouwkunst.
