The American Statistical Associa-tion's Board of Directors meeting, held near the ASA headquarters in Alexandria, Virginia, dealt with substantive issues regarding the future of this society. ASA President Fritz Scheuren redesigned the Board agenda to increase direct reporting and access from Committees, Chapters, Sections, and from the ASA 2005 Task Force efforts. While not all groups can possibly make presentations at any given Board meeting, several will be included on each 2005 agenda. Summaries of the March presentations are given in the paragraphs that follow, as well as abstracts of other efforts of association-wide impact.
