When it comes to the future of the heat pump market the familiar half glass of water analogy comes to mind - is the glass half full or is the glass half empty? Of course the engineer may conclude neither and determine the container is twice as large as it needs to be. This applies to the heat pump market. No doubt the 'container' - the potential market - is large and nowhere near full. Some of the previous quarter-on-quarter figures are, to be blunt, not that encouraging. However, this trend may have bottomed out -particularly as oil prices are back on the rise and concerns over RHI are diminishing. Indications over the last two months is that the market has picked up significantly. Budget has also been allocated for RHI spend until April 2021. Of course the EU referendum and subsequent change in government departments and ministerial positions caused some anxiety, but as the dust is settling the scene is becoming ever clearer.
