摘要

At the turn of the 20th century, John D. Rockefeller was the richest man in America. But rather than generations of pampered ne'er-do-well progeny, he left a legacy of children and grandchildren who were governors, a senator, a U.S. vice president, PhDs, successful business executives, and philanthropists. One of the keys to Rockefeller's success in passing on to his descendants the values of hard work and civic responsibility was a simple family tradition he initiated when his children were very young. He convened regularly scheduled, formal family meetings with his children to discuss finances.
