While Frampton＇s critical regionalism was widely known in 1980s, it also received many critiques, among which these from Keith Eggener were the most profound and subtle. Taking 8arragdn as a case, by reviewing how 8arragan became an international star [ram an unknown architect, Eggener revealed the ideology of ＂center-periphery＂ lying in ＂resistance＂ concept of critical regionalism, and its impact on architectural discourses： critical regionalism based on developed country was such a formula imposed upon the architects and their works of developing country and areas that much distortion and misunderstanding were made on them.
