本文是关于中国社会科学院文学所陆建德先生的学术访谈。陆建德谈到他从英美文学转向近代中国的契机，及他在英美视野参照下的近代中国研究的特点。陆先生强调渐进的思维方式，反思激进主义思潮并指出文学的位置，认为应以“延续性史观”代替“朝代更替”的理念。访谈还涉及如何营造良好的讨论空间与说理氛围，知识者应有怎样的“公”“私”观念等等。%This is an academic interview held with Mr Lu Jiande from Institute of Literary Studies, China Academy of Social Sciences, in which Lu talks about his transition from English and American literature to modern China as well as his studies in modern China characterized by his reference to English and American perspectives. Mr Lu emphasizes the importance of gradual mode of thinking, reflects on the ideological trends of radicalism and points to the position of literature, his view being that a“view of continuing history”ought to replace the thought of“dynasty-based change”. The interview also touches upon the ways of creating a space for good discussion and argument and wha kind of“public”and“private”concepts intellectuals ought to have.
