柏格理与圣经基督教教会的关系探析--兼论柏格理前往中国西南乌蒙山区传教原由

摘要

Pollard was the most successful missionary of modern English Methodist in the Wumeng Mountainous Are-a ,Southeast of China whom has attracted the attentions of numerous domestic scholars .However ,so far ,not enough studies have been made on Pollard’s early relations with English Methodist .As a member of English Methodist Church , Pollard and relations with the church can be summarized as the following three three aspects :the close geo-relations ;the family influence and inheritance ;the commitment to and faith in missionary .The further studies on Pollard’s early rela-tions with English Methodist could help us find out the real reason why Pollard chose to preach in China .%柏格理（S ．Pollard）是近代英国循道公会在中国西南乌蒙山区少数民族地区开展传教活动取得巨大成功的传教士。国内学界迄今对他已有较多关注，但对其早期与循道公会的关系却分析不够。作为循道公会的成员，柏格理与该会的关系可概括为地缘紧密、家道传承、信守弘道三个方面，通过对二者相互关系的进一步研究，实际有助于厘清柏格理来华传教的深层次原由。
