The telephone metering device has the barrel of the disabling lock provided with a concentric ratchet disc at the end opposite that with the insertion slot for the key. The disc has ratchet-type projections on its end face. A return spring presses the end of a single-arm ratchet lever against the projections. The lever is pivoted to a base plate carrying the lock's casing. The free end of the lever is forked and engages with this forked end the lower end of the lock's barrel. The lever is S-shaped. The lever's return spring is fixed to the lock's casing.
