The modern-style poetry of Du Fu, nearly 900 poems, has made a great contribution to the es-tablishment of Chinese modern-style poetry and its rapid development. While discussing the contributions of Du Fu’s poetry to the perfection of modern-style poetry versification and creation, scholars have always paid attention to his meticulous rhythm but ignored his irreplaceable role in the development of a grammar and rules system for the modern-style poetry. Du Fu is the only Tang Dynasty poet who was consciously aware of the dialectical relationship between the inheritance and innovation of the poetic tradition. He was persistent in the poetry creation all his life, developing a fresh and experienced poetic style, which is the true reason why he was esteemed as the Poem Saint.% 杜甫的约九百首近体诗对中国近体诗的确立和迅速发展繁荣贡献很大。历来学者们论述到杜甫诗歌对促成近体诗诗律完备、近体诗创作繁荣的贡献时都是只注意到诗人“老来渐于诗律细”即在声律的细密化方面的努力，却完全忽略了杜诗对于建立近体诗语法和句式系统的不可替代的作用。杜甫是惟一自觉认识到诗歌传统继承与创新辩证关系的唐代诗人，他以毕生的诗歌创作实践努力践行之，形成了清新与老成的诗风，这正是惟有杜甫而不是其他任何一位诗人所以成为中国诗圣的一个重要原因。
