The soluble component of BIAsp30 is absorbed more rapidly and rises to higher level of serum insulin. Fasting and postprandial glycaemic control can be achieved with injections before meals. Twice-daily BIAsp30 injection as insulin initiation in the patients with type 2 diabetes poorly controlled by oral antidiabetic drugs (OADs) could improve glycaemic control and minimize overall glucose variability without compromising safety. Thrice-daily injection obtains remarkable effect of glycaemic control as intensified insulin therapy. BIAsp30 offers an effective, safe and flexible choice for both insulin initiation and insulin intensification to fulfill individual demand in the clinical practice.
