Objective To investigate the relationship of serum matrix metallproteinase-9 (MMP-9) and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) with the early peripheral vascular disease (PVD) in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Methods The levels of MMP-9 and VEGF of 20 normal controls (NC group), 30 T2DM cases without PVD (T2DM group), and 40 cases with PVD (T2DM+PVD group) were determined by ELISA. Results The level of MMP-9 (201. 34 ± 77. 09) , (281. 46 ± 112. 99) , (349.12±123. 76)μg/L of the NC group, T2DM group, and T2DM+PVD group was gradually increased with a statistical significance (P<0. 05). The level of VEGF (268. 90± 131. 37), (354. 32± 130. 47), (458. 95+139. 96)pg/ml of the three groups was increased with a statistical significance too (P<0. 05). Conclusion The levels of MMP-9 and VEGF are significantly increased in the T2DM PVD patients, and are positively correlated with T2DM PVD, suggesting that they are correlated with the occurrence and development of PVD.%目的 探讨血清基质金属蛋白酶9(MMP-9)、血管内皮细胞生长因子(VEGF)与T2DM早期下肢血管病变的关系.方法 应用ELISA对20名正常人(NC),30例T2DM无下肢血管病变(PVD)者(T2DM组),34例T2DM合并PVD者(T2DM+PVD组)血清MMP-9、VEGF水平进行测定.结果 NC组、T2DM组、T2DM+ PVD组血清MMP-9[(201.34±77.09)、(281.46±112.99)、(349.12±123.76)μg/L]水平逐渐增高,差异有统计学意义(P＜0.05)；各组VEGF[(268.90±131.37)、(354.32±130.47)、(458.95±139.96)pg/ml]水平也依次增高,差异也有统计学意义(P＜0.05).结论 T2DM 合并PVD患者血清MMP-9、VEGF水平显著增加,且两者高度正相关,提示其可能协同参与PVD的发生、发展.
