Policy and procedures manual for the National Environmental Management System Certification Scheme (NEMSCS).

The Mauritius Standards Bureau needs to document its quality system in accordance with ISO Guide 66 to gain accreditation of its National Environmental Management System Certification Scheme. The purpose of this study is to write the Policy and Procedures of the scheme. The research plan was to collect relevant information to write the policy manual first. The second step was to evaluate the effectiveness of the existing National Quality Management System Certification Scheme, brainstorming staff of the MSB to know what procedures to develop, gathering information through interviews and observing work sites. The result is a policy manual that follows the structure of the ISO Guide 66 and a procedures manual that reflects the activities of the scheme.
