从意识形态和诗学角度比较《珍妮姑娘》两个中译本

摘要

《珍妮姑娘》（1911）是十九世纪美国著名小说家西奥多·德莱塞（1871-1945)的代表作之一，它和《嘉莉妹妹》同时跻身于美国《现代文库》所评选出的“20世纪100本最佳英文小说”之中。该书于二十世纪初进入中国，之后，各家译本比比皆是。其中以40年代的傅东华译本和80年代的潘庆舲译本最受欢迎。傅译本处处流露出归化的痕迹，颇具当时中国上海方言的特点；而潘译本以其鲜明的异化特色，给中国读者带来了一道精神上的异域文化大餐。为何两译本的特色如此不同？影响两译本不同的主要因素是什么？这些因素又是如何影响两译本的？为此，本论文作者决定对这两译本进行比较研究以探究其原因。
　　安德烈·勒弗维尔将翻译研究纳入文化研究范畴，提出了“翻译即改写”的著名论断，并探讨了意识形态、诗学、赞助人和语域对译者的影响。不同的译者，所处的时代和文化背景不同，会有不同意识形态和诗学倾向，而且译者在翻译过程中总是会考虑符合目的语的意识形态和诗学，以期译本更可能多地被读者接受。因此，本文基于“改写”（rewriting）理论，主要从意识形态和诗学角度对40年代最早的傅译本和80年代的潘译本进行比较研究，分析两译本译者在翻译过程中受到的不同意识形态和不同的诗学的影响，以及这些影响在译文中的体现。
　　通过比较分析，本文得出结论：在译前和译中，译者均受到自身意识形态和诗学的影响，也受到不同时代的主流意识形态和主流诗学的影响。具体影响到译者对翻译选材、翻译策略的选择以及对词语、句法和语言风格的选择。同时，本论文通过例子证明了勒弗维尔“改写理论”的正确性，并为该理论补充了大量的文本案例。
