摘要

In this work we claculate the switching time of the nanotube unctions and find it to be of the order of femtoseconds, a very fast switching time. We have recently started a study of the doped carbon nanotube junctions[1]. Nonlinear current-voltage relationship was observed, similar to that in a diode. Furthermore, for metallic nanotubes, negative differential resistance was observed. In this work, we further explore the characteristic of this device by studying its a.c. properties. The doped nanotube junction can also be ivewed as a capacitor with a capacitance C. The responce time of this junction is usually controlled by the time t chemical bounds RC where R is the resisance of the nanotuble.
