摘要

Each of the four surface stations forming the NetLander mission will include an electric and magnetic field experiment which are continuously recording electric and magnetic fields as well as the surface permittivity. Those instruments will use for the first time low frequency electromagnetic waves to investigate the various conducting layers on the Martian surface. These data are important for the study of EM-subsurface sounding techniques and one can estimate the amount of water or water ice, which is crucial for the existence of life.
