Managing human error in maritime activities

摘要

The paper begins by highlighting the role of human beings in safety before giving the reasons for studying human error. This is followed by an examination of human error in the context of human factors. A review of the present status of the subject is briefly discussed. The basis of human error management is given before a Human Error Management Approach (HEMA) is presented and its application is illustrated by an example.
