Smart Cost Effective Measures for the Manufacture of High Volume & Cost Sensitive PCB's In today's global market place, Printed Circuit Board (PCB) manufactures around the world must pay increasing attention to their customer demands for them to supply PCB's ever more cost competitively. Although this paper is not a compilation of vast technical achievements or a condensation of intensive R & D activities, it does attempt to cover some of the primary factors influencing PCB cost. Circuit design cost consideration and trade-offs are considered as well as offering some insight into how some simple and innovative cost reductions can be achieved by the PCB manufacture, thought embracing some new and emerging technologies together with some more general "common sense" solutions.
