In the Hydrocarbon Processing Industry (HPI) there are a number of on-line Process GasrnChromatography (PGC) applications that require the separation of light gas components such as Helium,rnHydrogen, Oxygen/Argon, Nitrogen, Methane, and Carbon Monoxide. The traditional approach to thesernneeds has been accomplished by the use of molecular sieve materials commonly available fromrncommercial suppliers of chromatographic materials or solutions. While molecular sieve materials havernlong been utilized for this purpose, there are drawbacks to their use as compared with the characteristicsrnof a new packing material presented in this paper. The results of the initial investigation of applicationsrnutilizing this new material are presented with some performance data.
