Distributed video coding (DVC) is a recent codingrnparadigm that allows for the computational complexityrnof the system to be shifted from the encoder to the decoder.rnThis makes DVC codes perfect for use in limitedrnpower wireless devices as well for distributed systems inrnthe multi-view case. In this paper, a single-view multihypothesisrntransform domain DVC codec, which uses nonbinaryrnquasi-cyclic LDPC codes, is developed. A scalingrnfactor for improving the correlation noise modeling of individualrnhypotheses as well as a new method for combiningrnthese hypotheses is presented. A closed form solutionrnfor optimal reconstruction based on the new method is derived.rnThe simulations show that the system is robust andrnable to effectively compress a variety of sources. The systemrnshows gains of up to 0.6 dB over state of the art DVCrnsystems and gains of 2 dB over the intra mode of the h.264rncodec.
