The decommissioning of offshore structures presents an interesting market for the offshore marine support industry. The decommissioning market will be about 80 million εeach year for the removal of the North Sea platforms. The offshore marine support industry will turn over about 85% of this amount. The decommissioning of offshore structures is a complex and challenging activity which could be best handled by a consortium which is able to execute all stages of the dismantling operation, both offshore and onshore.
