The relative merits of a technique depend often on the specificity of the field where it is applied and on the available alternatives. In this prespective it is not surprising that in polymer crystallography electron diffraction has been comparatively more fruitful than for low-molecular weight compounds (1). This stems from two sets fo reasons.
