Lead Safe Practices: What it Takes to Meet the OSHA and EPA Regulations

This presentation will cover the basics of lead and its potential exposures and health effects, and where lead is in construction and general industry. The session will focus on the requirements of the OSHA Construction Standard for Lead (29 CFR 1926.62, Lead) and the new United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Standard for Lead (40 CFR 745, Subpart L, Accreditation Program For Training Providers and Training and Certification Requirements for Lead-Based Paint Inspectors, Risk Assessors, Project Designers, Abatement Supervisors, and Abatement Workers) and the steps necessary to satisfy these regulatory standards. A review of the basic protection factors associated with lead regardless of where and when it is encountered will be presented.
