Along with continuous expansion of electric power industry, mileages of transmission lines inspection keep increasing Traditional power inspection by manual labor has exposed problems of heavy tasks and long period. Meanwhile, in some complex dangerous areas, routine manual labor way is difficult to accomplish all the inspection items. In order to ensure the reliability and safety of electric transmission lines, and enhance the intelligentization and automation of electric power inspection equipment, utilizing unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) are playing a more and more important role in performing electric power inspections Based on the research method and theory of system analysis, the essay presented related impact factors as per the cost of UAV inspection, analyzed the direct and indirect cost-effectiveness and economy of different UAV models, and established cost evaluation systems for two inspection modes - fixed-wing UVA and rotor UAV. By integrating case study on the inspection of The Wan-shun second Line it's proved that the UAV inspection models show good results in cost-effective analysis, which reflects the actual situation and is of great scientific guiding significance in UAV inspection.
