Adenovectors were encapsulated into anionic liposomes by calcium-induced phase changes method to enhance their transduction efficiency in coxsackie-adenovirus receptor deficient cells and to protect them from neutralizing antibodies. This delivery strategy is useful for applications using adenovectors, in which the target cells lack adenoviral receptors or in which the recipient has a neutralizing antibody response.
