The article describes the options for using different types of seals in low-speed long-stroke piston units. The deformations calculated values for the cylindrical part of the working chamber and the current value of the actual gaps for various cylinder-piston seals were determined. Based on the established minimum value of volumetric efficiency and isothermal efficiency indicator as well as on the maximum temperature, we have analyzed workflow stage air piston stroke of the compressor unit and made recommendations for the application of the considered types of seals.
