Manufacturing forces must be known because of their key role in determining geometrical precision of the manufactured parts, in influencing technological system's rigidity and in reducing energy consumption. The innovation of the designed device for measuring these forces consists in the elastic element, whose shape and behaviour were simulated by Finite Element Method, ANSYS Program. The device's prototype was tested so that, its rigidity characteristics and calibration equations have been determined. Used while manufacturing, both in machining and metal forming process, and aided by a LabVIEW data acquisition system, the device enabled the exact determination of manufacturing forces.
